You will complete a 4-year apprenticeship specialising in the first instance Assembly and Test followed by entering the sales team and will study with South Tyneside Marine School, completing a portfolio of evidence to prove their competence to achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. At the start of your apprenticeship, you'll spend the first 15 weeks at South Tyneside Marine School. You'll then join the team at Bel Valves in Walker, where you'll spend four days per week in the factory, while attending college one day per week ultimately ending up within the sales office.

Training will be completed with a training provider who will monitor training and development within a formal apprenticeship standard. As an Industrial Paint Shop Apprentice, you'll develop hands-on skills and experience to be able to paint complex, high value, components or assemblies using a variety of machines, equipment and paint application systems. The Paint Shop apprentice role involves learning and assisting in the selection, preparation, application and repair of industrial coatings. The apprenticeship will include shadowing of experienced technicians in all areas of the paint shop, this being within the blast chamber, conducting inspections, carrying out application of protective coating systems, learning about valve components and assisting in daily maintenance activities to identify any concerns, following all safety protocols. This role aims to develop technical skills, understanding of specific coating systems, and familiarity with industry standards through hands-on training.
